Sorry folks…while the roads are not too bad now, the temperature is already dropping and with street flooding and more precipitation coming down, we think it is just best to punt tonight’s meeting.

Our next meeting will be held on February 13 at the Hershey Public Library, starting at 6:30 PM.
Joel Persing and Chuck Joiner spent the full week (and a little more) in San Francisco at Macworld Expo, and will talk about their adventures, the products, the parties, and more. From the line in the keynote to the lights going down on the show floor, you’ll get to share the experience and hear about some of the products that turned the team’s head.
Don’t forget to bring any items you want to sell in the GarageSale Nano part of our meeting. Just be certain to check the guidelines before you do.
You can expect a raffle prize or two, our attempt to solve all your Mac-related problems in our Question & Answer session, the “Meeting After The Meeting” dinner at Fuddruckers and whatever else comes up (and something always seems to come up).

Our next meeting will be held on January 9 at the Hershey Public Library, starting at 6:30 PM. The topics will include:
“What I Tricked Santa into Bringing Even Though I Really Didn’t Deserve It”
One of the HAC officers (we won’t say who, to preserve the safety of the guilty) will discuss his holiday Mac gifts, and we invite all HAC members to bring along theirs for a group show-and-tell session.
Macworld Expo Preview
With Macworld and the Keynote only 6 days away, we will discuss the show and conference tracks, and of course, the HAC “Top Ten Things We Want to See at the Keynote and What We Will Most Likely Get.”
The NewerTech USB 2.0 Universal Drive Adapter
Need some extra storage for long-term backups or data storage but want to keep the cost down? We’ll show you the NewerTech USB 2.0 Universal Drive Adapter, a hardware adapter that lets you connect a raw hard drive (one without a case) to your Mac.
Of course, we’ll also have our ever-popular Question and Answer Session, the “Meeting After the Meeting” dinner at Fuddruckers, and undoubtedly a surprise or two.
See you at HAC!

December is here already and HAC will celebrate at our December 12 meeting, starting at 6:30 PM with a double-header showcasing two of the hottest Mac topics going.
Joel Persing has been living with Leopard for some time now, and will talk about the benefits and challenges he’s found with Apple’s latest version of the Mac OS. Joel also has a business need to run Windows (we’re sorry to hear that Joel), and will also share his experiences with Parallels.
Don’t forget to bring any items you want to sell to the GarageSale Nano part of our meeting. Just be certain to check the guidelines before you do.
Of course we’ll start out with our informative and entertaining Question and Answer Session and will follow up the meeting with our “Meeting After The Meeting” at Fuddruckers, so plan to avoid the holiday shopping crowds and spend the evening with all your Mac friends at HAC.

Our next meeting will be held on November 14 at the Hershey Public Library starting at 6:30 PM. Topics will include:

What to Listen To: Favorite Podcasts
If you’re not checking podcasts for your iPod, or even just on your Mac, you’re missing out on a world of outstanding content, both audio and video. No matter what your interest is, there is probably at least one podcast about it. We’ll tell you about some of the ones we subscribe to and invite you to bring in your favorites to share and add to the list.

A First Look at Leopard
Apple’s newest cat is out of the cage, generating interest and controversy for Mac users everywhere. What does it offer? What issues does it introduce? When should you upgrade? We’ll look at all of those issues and more in a first look at Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard.
As always, we’ll have our always-interesting Question and Answer Session, the traditional HAC raffle and our meeting-after-the-meeting at Fudruckers.

Our next meeting will be held on October 10, 2007 at the Hershey Public Library starting at 6:30 PM. Topics will include:

iPod touch vs. iPhone Shootout
Chuck has an iPhone. Joel just got an iPod touch. The two will square off for a feature and video quality shootout to let you see the best of both devices and decide which is for you. And if you’ve just purchased any of Apple’s new iPod models, bring them along to see how they stand up against the heavy hitters.

What to Watch: Feeding Your iPod and iPhone
No matter which video-capable iPod you have, you need to feed it. Sure, you can buy plenty of content off the iTunes Store, but what about all those DVDs you have at home? How about web video? We’ll give you some tips with with demos of VisualHub, Handbrake, QuickTime Pro and, for the TiVo owners in the crowd, TiVo Decode Manager.
