Hershey Apple Core November 9 Tech Talk Dinner

The next Hershey Apple Core Tech Talk Dinner will be held on November 9 at 6:30 PM.

Our emerging tradition of trying new restaurants will continue this month with a trip to Rock Bass Grill,  461 S Front St, Wormleysburg, PA 17043.

Along with our usual blend of Apple-oriented conversation, we will be determining the final disposition of the group’s funds as we continue to move to a more informal, social structure. If you have thoughts, please join us for dinner.

If you plan to attend, please let Chuck know or post a message to our email list so we have some idea of the size of the party. A reminder will be sent to the HAC Google Group closer to the time.

This new model for the group has been working out well – good food, good friends, and some tech talk. What more could you ask for? Hope you will join us.

We’re back from summer vacation, and we hit the ground running thanks to Apple’s September Event that will be held earlier in the day. We will review and discuss the announcements and highlights, play a little catch-up on everyone’s summer and what’s happened since we were together. The topics will range from iPads to Apple Watches and beyond…we really don’t know for sure until Tim Cook takes the stage.

You’ve been saving up all your technical issues since Spring, and we’ll try to answer them all in our Question and Answer session, and then head to a Meeting-After-The-Meeting dinner as HAC re-engages for our Fall semester. Hope to see you there!

May 13, 2015 Meeting: Apple Watch, Real Backup Strategies and Mac Maintenance

The next meeting of the Hershey Apple Core will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, starting at 6:30 PM at The Hospital & Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania, 4750 Lindle Road Harrisburg, PA 17111. Directions to the meeting can be found on the HAP web site.

Our May meeting will be our last before the Summer Break, so we want to leave you with lots of information to get you through to the Fall.

First, we’ll look at the latest product in Apple’s line, the Apple Watch. Did you get one? Do you have one ordered? There will be at least one at the meeting so you can see it firsthand. Find out what the owner(s) think about having information of many kinds on their wrist, and whether you should be the next to slip one on.

Backups are always a popular topic, since it is something that everyone knows they should do, but so many don’t. We’ll give you tips on making it simple but effective, no matter how much effort you want or don’t want to put into it.

Another always popular topic is Mac maintenance. If we have time, we’ll take you through a few simple things you can do to keep your Mac running smoothly.

The evening will wrap with our Meeting-After-The-Meeting Dinner, so plan to join us from start to finish.

April 8, 2015 Meeting: Catching Up

HAC is back after a couple months of meeting cancellations, bad weather, health problems and the indignity of a web site hack. We will catch up on all the latest Apple news (and boy, is there a ton of it!), solve the problems you’ve been saving for us and in general have a great time getting back togoether.

Don’t forget the “Meeting-After-The-Meeting” dinner, where even more great information and conversation can be had.

We look forward to seeing you back at HAC.
