If you missed our November meeting, you didn’t get to hear the group’s lively discussion on their favorite podcasts, our always informative Q&A session and a brief early look at Leopard. Fear not, however, the meeting notes will help those who were there find what was talked about, and those who weren’t decide that they need to make HAC meetings a higher priority.

Have some some Mac hardware or software that you no longer need? Why not pick up a little holiday cash? At our November meeting, the Hershey Apple Core will premier our “Garage Sale nano,” where HAC members will be able to put some of their goodies up for sale.
The rules are simple:
1. Garage Sale nano items must be in place on the sale table 15 minutes prior to the start of our meeting (that means by 6:15 PM).
2. Each item must be tagged with the Seller’s name and phone number, and the price of the item. Also, please provide information on the condition of any item that is not in 100% working order or is not complete in any way.
3. Business must be transacted either prior to the beginning of the meeting or following the end of the meeting.
4. We ask that, to help support the our MUG, that 10% of the sale price, or $1 (whichever is higher) be donated to the group. You’re on the honor system for this one.
6. Limit of two items for sale per member per meeting.
7. The Hershey Apple Core does not warrant nor guarantee the condition of any items in the Garage Sale nano. All transactions are between members and any disagreements or issues will be resolved between the buying and selling parties.
8. Sellers are responsible for removing any unsold items from the meeting room no later than 8:50 PM. Any items not claimed at that time will be collected and discarded as appropriate, and the Hershey Apple Core assumes no liability or responsibility for the discarded items.
There are only two HAC meetings between now and the holidays, so pick your two best items and bring them to HAC on Wednesday!

Our next meeting will be held on November 14 at the Hershey Public Library starting at 6:30 PM. Topics will include:

What to Listen To: Favorite Podcasts
If you’re not checking podcasts for your iPod, or even just on your Mac, you’re missing out on a world of outstanding content, both audio and video. No matter what your interest is, there is probably at least one podcast about it. We’ll tell you about some of the ones we subscribe to and invite you to bring in your favorites to share and add to the list.

A First Look at Leopard
Apple’s newest cat is out of the cage, generating interest and controversy for Mac users everywhere. What does it offer? What issues does it introduce? When should you upgrade? We’ll look at all of those issues and more in a first look at Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard.
As always, we’ll have our always-interesting Question and Answer Session, the traditional HAC raffle and our meeting-after-the-meeting at Fudruckers.

Each month the Hershey Apple Core donates a book to the Hershey Public Library, in appreciation for our use of their meeting space.
In October we gave the Library a copy of “The Perfect Thing: How the iPod Shuffles Commerce, Culture, and Coolness” by Steven Levy, the latest book to look at the effect of the ubiquitous iPod on everything. It should be available to check out any second now.
To take advantage of our donations, you must be a member of the Hershey Public Library. When you join, be sure to express your appreciation for their support of our group.
